If you are brave enough to have a pet dragon, you can tickle and groom it for dragon tears and dragon scales. Personally, while dragons are cool for pets, it is easier to BUY the dragon scales and tears! You buy the dragons, as dragon nests, from Vicki Vampiress in MagicTown for 49 Magicoins. They will not show up in her menu unless you have enough magicoins for the purchase. Remember to buy dragon treats and the dragon toy while you are there!
Dragons come in three colors. Red is Burnie, set him free immediately. Yellow
is Pyriti, he’s a cool dude. Purple is Torch, he can set fires if you don’t
make sure his needs are met!
To get a Burnie, ignore the dragon nest once you get it home. To get Pyriti,
play with the nest between 6 and 12 times, then leave it alone! To get Torch,
play with the nest over 12 times.
Dragons eat Maxis flowers. These are the daffodils, tulips, nasturtiums, and wildflowers. Try putting a few of each of the growing flowers around the lot and pay attention to which ones the dragon eats! Then plant a bunch more of that one. You might want to get a gnome enchanted to take care of the garden for you or it will die off before your dragon gets fed. Dragons also eat trash, plates of food put on the floor, and dragon treats. I think they also eat the toadstools if they are left on the ground too long and go bad. Dragons will eat toads so be careful about toadifying other Sims if you have a pet dragon around!
It is important that your dragon have attention paid to it daily or it will become unfriendly even if it's needs are met. Get the dragon treats, and the dragon chew toy from Vicki. Give the dragon a treat daily. Pet the dragon every day, whenever your sim has a chance. If you want to see what happens when you don't, go check out my West album! You can do this by clicking on the "mysimpage" button next to my name at the top of this post. Select West, and read why Kimberly had to give up that pet dragon she wanted so badly... She petted it whenever she was home from school, but because SHE was a child and could not give the dragon treats, it didn't like her!
Good luck with your pet dragons. Just remember, they are considered objects, not pets or family members in the game. They will disappear from your Sim's life if you evict the Sim family from their home to move them.
For a complete list of spells, look in your spell book! They really are there,
except for the magic nectar and magic tart, which will show up in the recipe
book, not spell book, once you find them. If you don't want to use the spell
book... You can get a complete list of spells at this site http://www.thesimsresource.com/mmstrategy.php
It is very useful! The only thing missing is magic nectar and magic tart.
There is NO CHEAT for magicoins! Not really anyway. There is however, a neat
trick you can use and here it is: When a Sim first moves into a house or the
first time you use a house after installing MM, the Mystery Man drops off
a package. As soon as he drops it, pause the game! Now, open the cheat box
(control, shift, C) and type in prepare_lot and hit enter. He will now drop
another box, keep doing this until you get a few boxes. Remember they each
have 35 magicoins, so keep on going for a while! LOL Side bonus is that you
can sell off the extra magic items, use the extra end tables which are free
once you sell the extra wand charger, and I'm sure your sim can use the additional
butter, toadstools and toad sweat.
Delete the boxes once they are empty. They bring the room score way down!
Or, you could just deal with the low room score until after midnight, and
then delete them for $100 each!
That said I would like to point out that it doesn't take long on the stages
to build up enough magicoins to do anything you want. Increase your logic
and mechanical skills and get on those stages in MagicTown! While the Sim
is performing one trick, click on the stage and select another. Keep doing
this for several performances (my sim can do about 10 fully refreshed when
she gets there). When your sim finishes, they'll get paid. On the stage with
MagicStorm they get paid 5 for low logic, 15 for med (4+) and 25 for high
(8+) logic skills. On the wooden stage they get 5 for low, 10 or 15 for med
(4+) and 20 for high (8+) mechanical skills. Do five or ten performances at
a time and you are soon carrying enough magicoins to buy one of the "spooky"
houses.
Moving
into MagicTown isn't difficult but there are some things you want to remember...
All magic growth, charms, dragons, trophies, etc. will be left behind. They
are "sold" when you move out of one house into another. Pets like
birds, iguanas, turtles, etc are also left behind. These things are considered
objects and not family members. If you have Unleashed as well as Makin' Magic
it is a good thing to know ahead of time. If your sim has cats or dogs, they
go with your family as they are considered family members.
Don't forget to empty the Magic Cabinet if you happened to have stored magic
ingredients in it or your magicoins there. Once you evict the family, that
stuff is lost forever!
Word of warning about magicoins: If you used a cheat or hack to get them and
have more than 32,000 distributed among the family members, get rid of some!
I usually put extra in the magic cabinet before leaving the house. If you
try to move into a MagicTown house with over 32,000 you will get a negative
number of magicoins as you have reached the limit and NOT be able to make
the move!
Ready to move? Make sure you have the required Magicoins. For the center lot
it is 1500 magicoins plus the simoleans, and for the lots on either side it
is 1000 magicoins plus the simoleans. When your Sim has the required money
save, go to neighborhood, evict them from house.
At the top of the neighborhood screen is a hat icon representing MagicTown.
You will click on that. Now in the MagicTown neighborhood, you have a family
selection screen. Choose your (now evicted) family and move them into a lot.
If you decide that isn't the right house, you can back out without saving
and try the next one.
The first house on the left is a big enough house for a small family. No building
room though. The one in the middle is tiny and the bedroom has room for only
a single bed, so you could remodel it. There is room for growth if you level
the land some. The house on the far right is smaller still, but there is some
growing room here too. You can always remodel. Just remember someone has to
be living on these three lots to do it
